William Yonkus

William Joseph Yonkus, Sr. Dimondale, Michigan William J. Yonkus, Sr., age 70, of Dimondale, passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2017. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on January 5, 1947, the son of Joseph and Avion Yonkus. William graduated from Everett High School in 1965 and married his wife Elizabeth that same year in Lansing, Michigan. Together they welcomed a son, William Yonkus, Jr. in 1966. Before opening Sundance Jewelry in 1973 with his wife, Elizabeth, he was a skilled tradesman at General Motors. William was a distinguished Graduate Gemologist and a Certified Appraiser. He loved to visit the beach and traveling to the South West. One of his favorite places to visit was Mackinaw Island with his dear wife, Elizabeth. William is survived by wife, Elizabeth Yonkus; son, William Yonkus, Jr.; granddaughters, Daisy and Audrey Yonkus; sister; Bennie Cunningham; step-brothers, Donne and Jerry Brown; late step-sister, Paula Brown; and late brother; Gary Cunningham, Judith Stout, Ron and Kathy Sekerchek.
