Age 71, passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2003.  She was born on June 11, 1932 in Fowler, MI the daughter of Otto and Mary (Hufnagel) Simon.  Mrs. Thelen was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Johns, MI, and a member of the Daughters of Isabella.  She married Elmer Thelen September 23, 1953 in Fowler, and he preceded her in death in 1990.  Wilma was a loyal fan to her grandchildrens' extracurricular activities.  She was also preceded in death by her parents; 3 brothers, Paul, Roman, and Anthony Simon; sister, Anna Koenigsknecht.  Surviving are 5 sons, David Thelen of Westphalia, Jim (Sandy) Thelen of Westphalia, Jerry (Sharon) Thelen of Westphalia, Rick (Shannon) Thelen of St. Johns, and Larry (Sheehan) Thelen of Pinckney; 5 daughters, Ruth (Jerry) Armbrustmacher of Fowler, Linda (Brian) Ritter of St. Johns, Terese (Randy) Croyle of St. Johns, Donna (Glen) Cummins of Portland, and Patti (Stacy) Darling of Portland; 21 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; 2 brothers, Donald (Shirley) Simon of Mt. Clemens, and Frank (Barbara) Simon of Lansing; 2 sisters, Rita (Carl) Wieber of Fowler, and Theresa Donovan of Kenner, LA.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Cecilio Reyna, Pastor at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2003 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Westphalia with Rite of Committal following at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the St. Mary's Funeral Chapel, 210 N.
