Betty Lou McBride Obituary

Betty Lou McBride Betty passed away quietly on December 26, 2012. She would have been 86 years old on December 27, 2012. She was born in Buena, Washington, to Emma (Olsen) and Cecil Walker. She met and married Bernard C. McBride in San Franciso, California, in 1946. He was working there in the shipyards following his discharge from the Navy. In the spring of 1947 they moved from California back to his hometown, Wayland, Michigan. Betty loved travel, square dancing, bowling, golf, yard sales and most of all family time, especially time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernie, a son, Michael, a daughter-in-law Patricia, and her two brothers, Don and Bob Walker. She is survived by a daughter, Judy Nance, a son, Dennis (Pauline), a daughter-in-law, Nancy McBride, five grandchildren, Andria McBride, Mark (Amanda Reel) McBride, Adam (Brandi) McBride, Carrie (Luis) Vasquez, and Katie (Zeke) Fletcher, nine great-grandchildren, a sister, Doris Foster, a sister-in-law, Eileen (Schwartz) Walker, and many nieces and nephews. Per her wishes cremation took place and there will be no formal service. A gathering to remember and celebrate her life will take place from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, June, 23, 2013 in the banquet room at Yankee Springs Golf Course, 12300 Bowens Mill Rd., Wayland, MI 49348.
