He graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1943. On February 4, 1961 he married Dorothy Kepp in St. Joseph. Rudy retired from Shepperd Casters in 1990. He also worked at Auto Specialties and Whirlpool as a Millwright. Rudy was also a farmer, at one time farming up to 200 acres. He owned 80 acres and grew grapes for Welch CO-OP. He loved working in his grapes until they became to labor intensive and had to take them out. Then he grew soybeans. In his younger years he helped his parents on the farm picking berries, tomatoes, peaches, cherries, and grapes, and then going to the fruit market. He loved being in his shop, ‘his home away from home’ and had the family, friends and neighbors over to talk and joke with in his shop. He loved to tinker with his tractors and building things he thought would help. Rudy also had an airplane and loved to fly, but eventually had to stop due to his eyesight. Rudy leaves behind his wife of 58 years, Dorothy (Kepp) Duschek; son Joseph R. (Julia Russell) Duschek; and his beloved granddaughter Heather M. Duschek; his sisters Erma Hennes and Dorothy Schwolow; and brother Walter Duschek. Those that went before him sisters Jeanette (Leo) Lynch, Alice (Eugene) Clem, Arlene (Marvin) Wolter; brothers Arthur Duschek, Ray (Juanita Skala) Duschek and Bernard Duschek, brother-in-law John Hennes, Glen Schwolow; sister-in-law Connie Duschek; and his little Poodle Snickers. Following the burial at Spring Run Cemetery the family would like to invite everyone back to the funeral home for a time for food and fellowship.
