Albert Patrick Barnes Obituary

A. Patrick Barnes

Albert Patrick “Pat” was born in Credit River Township (Lakeville), MN on January 22, 1935 and entered into rest on February 26, 2019. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marianne; sister Marge Vidlund; children Robbie (Rich) Raaen, Mark (Stephanie) Barnes and Craig Barnes; grandchildren Kristen, Jessica, Zachary, Cody, Samantha, Hailey, and Josiah.

Pat was blessed with eight godchildren: Theresa Hanson, Christine Estoye, Alan Barnes, Mary Lynn Barnes, Debra Gervais, Steven Strande, Brian Schmidt, and Julie Carey. All of his 48 nieces and nephews were an important part of his life.

Pat was preceded in death by parents Albert Leo and Caroline Catherine (Speiker) Barnes, siblings Albert, Norbert, Catherine, Rita, Rose, and George; and daughter-in-law Amy (Lusk) Barnes.

Pat enjoyed his time in the Air Force, especially the three years in Frankfurt, Germany. He was employed at FMC for 32 years, and was very proud of the work they did for the Navy.

In Pat’s youth he was a part of the Golden Glove’s Boxing Team, and later developed a passion for bowling.

Most people remember Pat for his love of Gunsmoke, the Duke, and any other western you could think of. But Pat’s favorite part of life was spending time with his family and being “Poppy” to his grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial Monday, March 4th at 11 AM with visitation beginning at 9 AM at CHURCH OF ST. TIMOTHY (707 - 89th Ave. NE, Blaine). Interment at a later date.
