Obituary for Amy Sackett

Amy Sackett was born August 6, 1924 in Lamberton the daughter of Adolph and Mable (Fester) Halvorson. She was baptized on October 5, 1924 at Highwater Lutheran Church by Pastor Joseph Lewis and confirmed by Pastor L.O. Sunde. On October 15, 1942 she was married to Virgil (Toddy) Sackett at Springfield. They moved to their first home in Lamberton in 1947 and their second home in 1979. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church. She enjoyed her bible study groups, her group of friends get together for coffee, wintering in Las Vegas for 19 years, going to Jackpot and especially spending time with her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her and Toddy shared 69 years together before he passed away November 22, 2011.

She is survived by children Robert and wife Karen of Martinez, Ga.; Barb and husband Jerry Scharpe of Glencoe; Jerry and wife Kathy of Worthington; and Roger Sackett of Lamberton; eight grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 1great-great grandson; sisters Doris Grinde of Rogers; Marilyn (Dale) Plugge of Columbus, NE.; Darlene (Tip) Kling of Lamberton; and Eddie Halvorson of Mesa, AZ; sister-in-laws Mary Ann Sackett; Elaine Mahaffey; and many nephews and nieces.

Preceded in death by her husband Toddy; her parents Adolph and Mable Halvorson; father and mother-inĀ­-law Fred and Anna Sackett; sisters Amanda (Wayne) Nerem; Irene (Vernon) Logue; brother Leonard Halvorson; brother-in-laws Paul Maass; Lloyd Ahlstrom; Lowell (Lavonne) Sackett; Virgin (Pat) Sackett; Russell Mahaffey; sister-in-law Lois Halvorson; and great grandson Anthony Steinke.
