Obituary for Elred Arden Oren

Elred Arden Oren was born on the family farm in Linden Township, Brown County, MN to Clifford and Beatrice (Anderson) Oren on May 15, 1929. He grew up and attended Hanska High School graduating in 1947. He served with the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged. Elred returned home to farm with his dad and remained there to faithfully take care of his mother. After deteriorating health, he moved to Luther Memorial Home with T.L.C. and good friends. Elred was privileged to enjoy bus tours to almost all of the states, made good friends, and had many pictures and stories to share. He enjoyed children, had a good sense of humor, and was dedicated to his home church where he held several offices and served on the cemetery board. Elred also enjoyed going to auctions and collecting antiques such as pewter trains and cars, and angels. He kept the mailman busy with his mail order purchases and nothing made him happier than his Thunderbird and red Mustang. Elred was in failing health but the love and compassion from the staff at Luther Memorial Home was unending. We are thankful to all of the caregivers.

Elred is survived by 2 sisters- Bonita (Oren) Lokre of St. James, and Virginia (Robert) Pierson of Madelia; nieces and nephews- Sheryl (Larry) Trullinger and family, Randy (Jan) Lokre and family, David (Deb) Lokre and family, Roxanne (Wayne) Oscarson and family, Renee (Kurt) Bertilson and family, and Radford (Deb) Pierson and family; and many great nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law Palmer Lokre; and many aunts, uncles, and friends.
