Janeth Leigh (Cotter) Hernández, 67, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2017 at her home in Maple Grove, MN surrounded by her family after a long struggle with cancer.
Jan was born in Iowa City, IA to Bob and Norma Cotter. She received a degree in Political Science and Spanish in 1972 from Macalester College. There was no jigsaw puzzle she couldn’t solve or mystery novel she hadn’t read. A prolific crocheter, she kept hundreds of babies and pets warm and cozy over the years by donating her blankets.
Jan is survived by her loving family: husband José, daughter Lourdes Hernández-Dayton (Jon), son Roberto Hernández-Cotter (Daisy), sister Connie Rasmussen (Mark), and many other family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Bob and Norma Cotter.
A celebration of life ceremony will be held on July 12, 2017 from 5-8pm at the Kozlak-Radulovich Funeral Chapel in Maple Grove, MN.
