Vardaman---Jerry Delaine “Flop” Holder, 72, passed away at his home in Vardaman on Thursday, August 13, 2020. Born August 30, 1947, in Vardaman, he was the son of Lurlene Schmitz Holder and the late Cecil Delane Holder. He graduated from Vardaman High School, and was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church. Flop enjoyed hanging out with friends, riding ATV’s and listening to music. He also loved to be in the woods deer hunting, or on the water fishing. Above all, he loved his family, and cherished the time spent with them. Even at 72 years young, he enjoyed living life to the fullest, and he will be missed deeply by all who knew him. Pryor Funeral Home has the honor of serving the Holder family. A Graveside Service celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2020, at 3:30pm at Poplar Springs Cemetery in Vardaman. Bro. Vince Anderson will be officiating with interment to follow. Pallbearers will be Gene Holder, Glen Pearson, David Marshall, Rudy Williams, G.W. Howell, and Mike Holder. He leaves behind his mother, Lurlene Schmitz Holder; daughter, Sherry Holder of Bruce; brothers, Johnny (Beverly) Holder of Vardaman, Tom (Kim) Holder of Knoxville, TN, and David (Diane) Holder of Batesville, AR; and grandchildren, Hayden and Hayley. He was preceded in death by his father, Cecil Holder; sister, Diane Lee; brothers, Charles Holder and Tim Holder; and nephew, Jason Holder.
