Lora Bee Nelms Hamilton Taylor

Lora Bee Nelms Hamilton Taylor, 91, passed away at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Calhoun City on Saturday, July 18, 2020. Born Septemeber 11, 1928, in Calhoun County, she was the daughter of the late William Emmette Nelms and the late Elizzie Dillard Nelms. She graduated from Calhoun City High School, and was a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church. She was retired from Kellwood Corporation after many years of service in various positions. She lived her entire life in Calhoun County, and often referred to it as “the garden spot of the world.” She enjoyed many hobbies, with eating being her favorite, as told by her family. She would coordinate her daily walks with mealtimes and “just happen” to walk to her daughter’s home around breakfast, around lunch, and around supper time. She also loved talking on the CB Radio. “Bumble Bee” enjoyed many years of conversing with her CB friends. Another hobby was Christmas Bingo, where she would always request “cash-only” prizes. God blessed Lora Bee with a long life here on earth, but she is now resting in her Heavenly home. Her family will miss her deeply, but she has left a lifetime of memories for them to remember forever. Pryor Funeral Home has the honor of serving Lora Bee’s family. A Graveside Service celebrating her life will be held on Monday, July 20, 2020, at 10:00am at Reedy’s Chapel Cemetery. Bro. David Martin will be officiating with interment to follow. She leaves behind her daughters, Leslie (Benny) Martin of Calhoun City, Annette (Sam) Lollar of Calhoun City, Donna (Bill) Olds of Southaven, and Jean Arrington of Lucedale; Sons, John Sherwin Hamilton, and Bud (Stina) Taylor, both of Calhoun City; grandchildren, John T. Hamilton, Richard Foster, Benny Martin, Amy Jenkins, and Dustin Martin. She was also blessed with many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, John Murry Hamilton; second husband, Thomas Calvin Taylor; and brothers, Eldred Nelms, Rex Nelms, and Roland Nelms.
