George Whisenant

Mr. George Carvel Whisenant, age 95, passed away on Monday October 02, 2017 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, MS. Visitation will be held on Thursday October 05, 2017 from 5:00PM until 7:00PM and again on Friday October 06, 2017 from 12:00PM until 1:45PM at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS. Funeral Services will be held on Friday October 06, 2017 at 2:00PM at the Wolf Funeral Services Chapel in Morton, MS. Burial with military rites will follow in the Cooperville Baptist Cemetery in Morton, MS. Officiating will be Bro. Jackie Strebeck and Bro. Scotty Cooper. Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS is in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Whisenant had lived in the Cooperville Community since 1976 where he moved from Jackson, MS. He was a member of the Petit Baptist Church in Bogalusa, LA and the V.F.W. He loved to hunt, fish, and work in his garden. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Dennie Whisenant; his brother, James Whisenant; his sister, Virginia Seitz; and his grandson, Jacob Whisenant. He is survived by his wife, Helen Moore Whisenant of Morton, MS; two sons, Dale Whisenant (Pat) of Ft. Worth, TX, and Dalton Whisenant of Morton, MS; one grandchild, Caitlin Thomas (Shawn); and a host of other family and friends. Pallbearers will be Brian Beemon, Aaron Cooley, Andrew Cooley, Marion Coker, Kenneth Moore, and Shaun Walker. Honorary Pallbearers will be Kendall Moore and Curtis Moore.
