Carl Nevis Berry, Sr., age 78, of Leetown passed away on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at Biloxi VA Medical Center. Visitation will be Friday, January 25th from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at Picayune Funeral Home until the time of the Funeral Service at 12:00 noon, with Bro. Orean Spence and Bro. Scott Smith officiating. Burial will be at Lee’s Chapel #2 Cemetery, under the direction of Picayune Funeral Home. Carl was born in New Hebron, MS and moved to the area from Jackson, MS thirty-five years ago. He worked in construction and was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. He was a member of Lee’s Chapel #2 Baptist Church, a Mason and a Shriner. He is survived by his mother, Ina Mae Buckley Berry of Belzoni, MS; wife, Janice Faye Lee Berry of Leetown; two daughters, Tangie Smith of Leetown and Gloria Necaise of Leetown; grandson, Chance Berry of Leetown; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, E.V. Berry; one son, Carl N. Berry, Jr. and one sister, Lucy Berry Martin.
