Charles Raymond “Ray” Knox, 81, passed away peacefully at home in Picayune, MS, on May 22nd, 2016. <br>He was born on September 13th, 1934, in Cazenovia, NY. After 23 years of service in the United States Air Force and an honorable discharge retirement, Ray worked at the Stennis Space Center as an electronics technician for 10 years before leaving to work on his beloved farm until his death.<br>In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Ann Bailey and his brother, John Carlton Knox.<br>Surviving family members include his loving wife of 30 years, Kathlyn “Chickie” Younger Knox, three children, Vickey Bowers of Denver, NC, Charles Raymond Knox III of Gastonia, NC, Joan Marie Newsome of Camden, SC, two stepchildren, Lavonne Stringer of Picayune, MS, Justin Marble of Acton, MA, nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.<br>He will be remember as a loving father, devoted husband, caring friend, and a true steward of the land he loved.<br>Friends are invited to a memorial service which will be held on Sunday, May 29th at 1:30 pm at the Knox Farm on #1 Flat Top Rd, Picayune, MS, with the Reverend Kenny Campbell officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in his name to the Pearl River County SPCA Animal Shelter, P.O. Charles Raymond “Ray” Knox, 81, passed away peacefully at home in Picayune, MS, on May 22nd, 2016.
