Obituary

On May 7, 2016, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, Charles Thomas Price (69) entered the gates of heaven. Charles was an angel on earth and will be greatly missed by many devoted friends and family. Charles was a resident of Gulfport Mississippi.

He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Donald Blow. Many other family members preceded him in death including his father, George Raymond Price Sr., his mother, Mary Alice Price, his sisters, Ramona Price, Shirley Price-Stites, Emma (Chris) Baggett, sister in law Alice Price, his uncles TL Price, Bobby Copeland and Chuck Copeland, his nephew Roy Price and niece Misty Gayle.

Charles was a veteran of the United States Army and served in Germany during the Vietnam War. His service was one of the only formal things about him, and something he was truly proud to have performed for our great country.

Charles never met a stranger. He was always the doting brother, uncle/aunt, friend and nephew to many. Charles is survived by two brothers, George Price Jr., and Richard Price, both whom live in Texas. His sister-in-law Teresa Price, and brother-in-law Louis Baggett, and his uncle Bobby Price also survives him. Undeniably, one of his greatest pleasures were his numerous nieces and nephews, their spouses, and their ever-growing number of children. A great feat, exemplary of his kind nature, was that he never forgot a birthday or anniversary of the people he loved so deeply. His direct surviving nieces and nephews are Shannon Price, Tammy Morgan, Monte Price, Richard Price Jr., Tommy Stites, Kelly Stites, Timothy Stites, Traci Walt, George “Todd” Price III, Kerri Parker, Audrey Price and Christy Whetherell. Many affectionately referred to him as “Aunt Charles.” Blood relation was not a prerequisite to receive his tender love; his friends were also his family. His best friend Ray Parker survives Charles, and is among the many too numerous to list, who will deeply miss everything about him.

Charles was a former member of the American Legion in various cities, and was a founding member of the American Legion in Livingston, Texas where he served as a financial officer. While his career never was what defined him, his occupation was mostly within the accounting profession.

Charles had many gifts, but what he will be most remembered for is his ability to make every single day fun. His joy was infectious; his ability to be positive – even in the darkest moments — will be his legacy.

The memorial service for Charles Thomas Price will be at the Biloxi National Cemetery on May 27th, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. All who knew him, and loved him, are welcome to the service.
