Dorothy Elizabeth Case Obituary

Dorothy Elizabeth Plake Case, age 90, passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2019.

Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at Picayune Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Picayune Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Gipson Cemetery under the direction of Picayune Funeral Home.

Dorothy was a well-loved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She was loved and admired by all who knew her.

A grand role model for women, Dorothy was an accomplished artist, writer and photographer. She loved the earth and all its wonders. For many years she was a member of the Picayune Art League, Picayune Bowling League and Dulcimer Club.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Case; son, Sam Ross Case; daughter, Charlotte Elizabeth Collins; parents, John Thomas Plake and Perrie Walker Plake; and sister, Katherine Plake Case.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Kent Case (Melanie) of Sumrall, Mississippi, Gaylon Case (Dottie) of Australia and Brenda Case of Picayune, Mississippi. Her grandchildren, Jennifer Teaff, Kris Collins, Leah Mesquita, Erin Velasquez, Joni Kirvin, Jonathon Kirvin and Joel Case. Her great-grandchildren, Jade, Tazmine, Elijah, Alexander, Sadie, Mary Jane, Zoey, Jude, Stella, Charlotte, Oliver and J.P., and her great-great grandchildren, Aiden, Nolan, Skyler and Makai; two brothers, John Plake of Kentucky and Charles Plake of Louisiana; two sisters, Vivian Haynes and Francis Lirette of Louisiana.

Dorothy Case will be lovingly remembered for her wonderful life and works.
