Graveside services for Evelyn Chapman, age 93, of Carriere, Mississippi, who passed away on May 20, 2015, will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Hillcrest Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, May 22, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Picayune Funeral Home, Picayune, Mississippi. Burial will be in the Hillcrest Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Picayune Funeral Home with services led by Rev. Kevin Neary. A native of Louisiana, she was a homemaker and a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. She was active in church work most of her life and was a master crocheter who made many beautiful things for friends and family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Amos Edison Chapman, her parents, Tom Richmond and Dora Blanche Bass, her son, Charles Chapman, her grandson, Brad Aaron, 6 sisters, and 2 brothers. She is survived by her children, Blanche Zamsky (Steve), Jerry Chapman (LaDean), and Lena Aaron (Jerry), her grandchildren, Sherri Albritton (Benji), Dawn Melancon, Craig Melancon (Tanji), and Andrea Evans (Byron), great-grandchildren, Monique Penton (Brad), Ashley Prewitt (Matthew), Logan Albritton, Landyn Albritton, Heather Aaron, Zachary Taft, and Ava Taft, 4 great-great-grandsons, a sister, Glenda Watkins (Charles), and numerous nieces and nephews.
