Frederick Anthony Ubas, Jr., of Carriere, Mississippi, passed away at the age of 52 on Friday, March 22, 2013. Son of the late Frederick Anthony Ubas, Sr., the late Betty Ubas Simmons and step-son to, Albert “Bobby” Simmons; husband to his beloved wife, Terri Gonzales Ubas of Carriere, MS; father of two sons, Frederick A. Ubas, III and his wife Natonya of Carriere, MS, and Tony Gagliano, Jr. of Carriere; two daughters, Sarah Ubas of Gulfport and Tisa Gagliano of Picayune; brother to, Steddie Ubas of Marrero, LA, Mindy Ubas Marrione of Slidell, LA and the late Brenda Ubas of St. Bernard, LA. Also he is survived by six beautiful grandchildren, Nayonta, Edwin, Haven, Demi, Frederick Ubas IV and Gianna Gagliano. Freddie who was currently employed with Folgers as a technician, is a retiree of Lockheed Martin, where he entered into his career at the age of 19. He helped to construct the external fuel tanks for the U.S. space shuttles for over 30 years. Freddie was a huge advocate for DASGNO (Down Syndrome Association of Greater New Orleans). Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Saturday, April 6, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Picayune Funeral Home, 815 South Haugh Ave., Picayune, MS 39466. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Picayune Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Bro. Henry Heathcoat.
