Obituary<br>James “Ira” Jarrell<br><br>Mr. James “Ira” Jarrell passed away peacefully at his earthly residence. He then entered his heavenly home on Sunday May 26, 2019. He was a veteran.<br><br>Visitation will be held Saturday June 1,2019, at Emmanuel Baptist Church from 10:30 a.m.to 12:00 p.m. Services will be held at 12:00 p.m.at the Church.<br><br>Ira was a 1st class welder and he was a Foreman of Halter Marine Shipyard in New Orleans, Louisiana. He worked there for 19 years. He joined Picayune School District transportation department in 1983 as a lead mechanic, for 23 years.<br><br>He was the coordinator of the 4th Saturday Night Fellowship Gospel singing since 1985. He produced four gospel CD’s in his lifetime. Ira was the lead singer for the gospel group, The Revelations, with his daughter Darlene and his mother-in-law Rosalee Thigpen.<br><br>His hobbies included coon hunting with his father -in-law George Thigpen and their friends. He loved playing music and singing with his gospel music friends. He also enjoyed going to local convalescent Homes and the Pines Apartments to sing his music. He enjoyed watching old cowboy movies and gospel music shows.<br>Over the years, he was a song leader and a Sunday School Teacher in church.<br><br>He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Jarrell of Nicholson; one daughter, Darlene Jarrell Seals (Herman II) of Nicholson; one grandson, Herman Seals III; Nephews, Bobby & Tony Jarrell, Neices; Cathy Jarrell, Judy Jarrell and Patricia Stockstill and other family members.<br><br>He will be sadly missed by his family and friends of the community.<br><br><br><br><br>
