John Allen Stephenson, age 80, of Carriere passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at Slidell Memorial Hospital, Slidell, LA. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 18th starting at 3:00 p.m. at Picayune Funeral Home, with the Memorial Service beginning at 5:00 p.m. John was born in Shreveport, LA and moved to Carriere, MS twenty-eight years ago. He was a ship fitter at Trinity Yachts, a member of the Ohio Carpenters Union and a Baptist. He is survived and cherished by four sons, Glen (Elain)Owens of Nashville, AR, Carlas Hensley of Vienna, OH, Michael Stephenson of Carriere, MS and Steve Stephenson of Largo, FL; one daughter, Pamela (Daniel) Stephenson Clavier of Slidell, LA; one sister, Ann Johnston of Texarkana; two sisters-in-law, Janet Stephenson of San Antonio, TX; and Francis Niece of Amherst, OH; grandchildren, Jeremy Owens, Eric Hensley, Brittney Hensley, Jade Stephenson, Jennifer (Gabe) Clavier Radau, Kristopher (Sarah) Clavier, Jessica (Garett) Clavier McGregor, Caty Stephenson, Ashley Stephenson, Robbie Stephenson, Hannah Stephenson; great-grandchildren, Caleb Stephenson and Riley Stephenson and a host of nieces and nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Stephenson, parents, William and Corrie Stephenson, and two brothers, William Stephenson and Donald Stephenson. The family would like to extend a special thanks to his caretakers, nurses, Dr. Casey, doctors and staff of Slidell Memorial Hospital, The Guest House of Slidell and his extended family at Trinity Yachts, Paul, Mitch, Julie and Ed, where he worked for thirty-six years.
