Keith Holloway

Keith Millard Holloway of Caesar, Mississippi, passed away on January 8, 2013, at Canon Hospice in Gulfport. He was 96. Visitation will be held, Thursday, January 10, 2013, at Union Baptist Church in Caesar, from 6:00 to 9:00 PM. The service will be Friday, January 11, 2013, at 11:00 AM, with burial at the church cemetery. Mr. Holloway was born on August 22, 1916, in Eden, Mississippi. He grew up in the Caesar and Carriere communities. He served in the U. S. Army 1934 through 1937, and the United States Merchant Marines during WWII. Mr. Holloway was an electrician by trade, and later served as a civil servant with the United States Department of Labor. He was a lifelong Baptist, and a member and deacon of Union Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Durscherl Holloway of Caesar, and five sons: Lee L. Holloway of Florala, AL, Kenneth M. Holloway of Fort Valley, GA, John K. Holloway of Lexington, KY, David L. Holloway of Lilburn, GA, and James A. Holloway of Blakely, GA; two step-sons, David Polk of Gonzales, LA, and Daniel Polk of Caesar. He is also survived by one brother, Dale Holloway, of Florence, MS, and four sisters: Daphne Card of CT; Ina Rose Bullock of Brandon, MS; Betty Barber of Jackson, MS; and Shirley Hopes of Diamondhead, MS; twelve grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents John Milner Holloway and Lula Pearson Holloway, his first wife, Deveira Lee Holloway, and four brothers: Pearson Holloway, Ray Holloway, Arthur Holloway and Carl Holloway.
