Laken Brooke Lumpkin, age 8, of McNeill passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at Children’s Hospital in New Orleans, LA. Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 27th at 2:00 p.m. at Central Baptist Church in McNeill with Bro. Billy Galloway officiating, assisted by Bro. Bud Putnam, Bro. Donnie Broome and Bro. Shad Kennedy. Burial will follow in West Union Cemetery, under the direction of Picayune Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at Central Baptist Church in McNeill on Saturday, July 26th starting at 6:00 p.m. Laken was a student at Pearl River Central Elementary School and a member of Central Baptist Church. She was actively involved at Leisha’s Dance Studio and participated in the PYAA softball league for the past three years. She is survived by her parents, Alan and Melissa Lumpkin; sisters, Lacey Hampton and Logan Lumpkin; grandparents, Charles & Janell Lumpkin and Joe & Melinda Spiers; andgreat-grandparents, Audrey Lumpkin and Oneida Thomas. She was preceded in death by great-grandparents, Ulmer Lumpkin, Virgil Thomas, Roland & Allie Spiers, Ivory Davis and Evelyn Cook.
