Graveside services for Quinnie W. Houchin Jr. who passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2019 will be at Pine Grove Cemetery on Saturday, March 2, at 10:00 a.m. with Dr. Cody Warren officiating.<br><br>A native of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, Quinnie moved to Picayune in the late 40’s and started his railroad career with Southern Railway shortly after his education. Southern Railway became Norfolk Southern, and eventually evolved into the present Amtrak. After 42 years Quinnie retired from his railroad career with the title of Train Manager.<br><br>Quinnie was an avid railroad enthusiast who could answer just about any question about any train or railroad one might have. He had a hobby of miniature railroad construction. He also enjoyed home architecture and building just about anything.<br><br>Quinnie is survived by his current wife of 12 years, Carolyn B. Houchin.<br><br>He is also survived by his children, Kay Helen Houchin Whitfield (Ron); Quinn Houchin (Wendy); grandchildren, Jonathan Whitfield (Jennifer), Colby Whitfield (Heather), Olivia Houchin and Molly Houchin; great-grandchildren, Caroline Whitfield Hickman, Ross Whitfield, Justin Whitfield, Kate Whitfield, and Evan Whitfield.<br><br>Other survivors include his step-daughter Heather Reardon (Vincent); step-son, David McSwain Jr., (Thana), and step-grandchildren, Emily Miller and Trey McSwain.<br><br>Quinnie was preceded in death by his parents Quinnie W. Houchin Sr. and Helen Opal Moore Houchin, his brother, Edward Houchin and his previous wife of 56 years, Nancy Sue (Stewart) Houchin.<br>
