Richard Bernard Walsh, Jr. left this world on June, 21st, 2013, in Picayune, MS. His death from natural causes was unexpected. Rich was born on August 27th, 1954 in Somerville, N.J. to Richard Sr. and Barbara Joan Van Fleet Walsh. He graduated from Immaculata High School in Somerville, N.J. and attended Wagner College of Staten Island, N.Y. , as well as the University of New Orleans, where he studied English. Rich and his first wife, Kathleen McNamara, moved to New Orleans where Rich worked in outside sales for Dixie Art Supply. In 1996 Rich relocated to Mandeville, La. with his wife, Alison Williams, and their daughter Dylan Walsh.

He worked in outside sales and merchandising, most recently for the Acosta Corporation and Lowe’s garden center.

Rich loved JazzFest, political talk shows, The Weather Channel, bad puns, gardening, The New Orleans Saints, Ruby’s Roadhouse, anything to do with World War II, and the New Jersey shore, particularly Barnegat lighthouse. He had a kind and gentle soul andwill be missed by his many friends. He was known for his sense of humor.

Rich had a sister and a brother, Bridget J. Walsh and Timothy Walsh, both of New Jersey. He is survived by his daughter, Dylan Margaret Walsh of Mandeville, La. Friends may sign the online guest book at Picayune Funeral Home.
