Robert “Mickey” Smith, age 47, of Picayune passed away Monday, June 20, 2011 at his residence. A Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 23, 2011 at New Palestine Cemetery with Bro. Wayne Rice officiating. Mickey was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he was a MP during the Persian Gulf War. He was a former Police Officer for the Picayune Police Department, a security officer with the Army ammunition plant and a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Melanie P. Smith of Picayune his parents Grady and Shirley Smith of Picayune one son, John Ross Blackman of Picayune one daughter Dorian Blackman of Slidell and one grandchild Skyler Blackman.
