Vivien “Ray” Stermer, “King of Hearts” age 51, of Carriere, MS passed away Friday, August 7, 2009 at his residence. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, August 13th at 10:00 a.m. at Picayune Funeral Home Chapel with Mary Jarreau officiating, assisted by Donna Goode. Visitation will be at Picayune Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 12th from 6-9 p.m. Burial will be at Unity Cemetery. Ray was born in New Orleans, LA and moved to the Picayune area thirteen years ago. He was a boiler maker and a U.S. Army Veteran. He is survived by his mother, Girley Brooks Stermer ;fiancee’, Gwendolyn Ticka, “the one and only Ticka”; two sons, James Ray (Kelly) Stermer of New Orleans, LA and Erik (Danyel) Anthony of Bogalusa, LA ;four daughters, Stephanie Stermer of Tennessee ,Andrea Stermer of New Orleans, LA ,Amanda (Stanley), Delaune of Picayune and Melissa (Davd) Massengale of Poplarville ;seven brothers, Charles Stermer of Poplarville ,Raymond Stermer of Bush, LA ,Frankie Stermer of Bush, LA ,Johnny Stermer of Covington, LA ,Dale Stermer of Bush, LA ,Billy Stermer of Enon, LA and Timmy Stermer of Bush, LA ;three sisters, Donna Ryder of Melville, LA ,Sherry Sharp of Bush, LA ,Tina Stermer of Bush, LA and eleven grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, Charles Ray Stermer.
