W.E. Powell

W. E. Powell, age 92 of Picayune passed away Thursday, September 16, 2010 at his residence. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 22nd from 8:00-9:30 a.m. at Picayune Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. at Picayune Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Arlis Grice officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Horeb Baptist Church Cemetery, 25 Mt. Horeb Rd., Collins, MS at 1:30 p.m. Mr. Powell was a native of Magee, MS and moved to Picayune from California forty-five years ago. He was a U.S. Air Force retiree and a member of Goodyear Baptist Church. He is survived by one son, Don Powell of Lafayette, Louisiana; two daughters, Peggy Sanford of Tallahassee, Florida and Nancy Powell-Rabins of Colorado Springs, Colorado ;one brother, William Powell of Mississippi;one sister, Myrtle Mims of Jackson, Mississippi;six grandchildren;nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Flora Bell Powell. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Building Fund at Goodyear Baptist Church.
