Johnnie Turner

Mrs. Johnnie R. Turner, 89, of Sardis, MS passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2019, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. Mrs. Turner was born on May 20, 1929 in Arkansas to The Late Mildred Johnson Smith and Alvin Smith. She was a homemaker and a member of Union Baptist Church near Sardis. Mrs. Turner was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and grandmother who will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. She leaves behind her loving family which includes her daughter, Joyce Studdard (Bobby) of Millington, TN; four sons, Gary Smith (Martha) of Searcy, AR, Kenny Crawford (Vicki), Timothy R. Turner (Holly) and Tommy H. Turner (Jackie), all of Sardis, MS; twelve grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruff H. Turner and two daughters, Terri Turner and Paula Hays. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2019, at 2pm in the Sardis Chapel of Ray-Nowell Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Hickey officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Sardis. Visitation will be held in the funeral home on Saturday from 12pm until service time at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Union Baptist Church. Ray-Nowell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
