Mr. Clois Devon "Dee" Deweese, 84, of Coldwater, MS, passed away on Friday, August 25, 2017, at his home. Dee, as he was known, was born on September 3, 1932 in Philadelphia, MS to The Late Ada Jane Clark Deweese and Charles Cleveland Deweese. Mr. Deweese was a veteran of the United States Army who served during the Korean War. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Coldwater, was a member of the masonic lodge in Coldwater, and was a Wahabi Shriner. He retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as a construction inspector and served for many years as Chief of the Coldwater Volunteer Fire Department and was a charter member of the Tate County Rescue Squad. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and devoted much of his life to community service as well as to charitable causes. He leaves behind his loving family which includes his wife of 67 years, Teen Deweese of Coldwater; his daughter, Martha Dunavant (David) of Memphis, TN; four grandchildren, Jonathan Dunavant (Christy), Kristin Dunavant, David Dunavant (Shannon), and Michael Dunavant (Julie), all of Memphis, TN; six great-grandchildren; and many loved nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 28, 2017 at 12pm in the First Baptist Church in Coldwater with Rev. Tim Smith and Rev. Brad Burnette officiating. Interment will follow in Magnolia Cemetery in Coldwater. Visitation will be held in the church on Monday from 11am until service time at 12pm. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Ray-Nowell Funeral Home - Senatobia Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
