James Goodwin

Mr. James E. Goodwin, 87, of Crenshaw, MS, passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2017, at Senatobia Healthcare and Rehab. Mr. Goodwin was born on September 18, 1930 in Crenshaw, MS to The Late Hattie Marguerite Goodwin and Charlie B. Goodwin. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and was a member of Crenshaw United Methodist Church. Whether in church or in the services held in the nursing home, Mr. Goodwin loved to sing. He leaves behind his loving family which includes his sisters, Martha Sellers, Marvel Norton, and Lucy Malone, all of Crenshaw, MS; his brothers, Ronnie Goodwin and Bob Goodwin, both of Crenshaw, MS, and Hal Goodwin of Kennesaw,GA; two grandchildren, Nichole G. Boland and Jamie Goodwin; and one great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Eddie Michael Goodwin; his sister, Saaranell Frazier; and his brothers, Charlie Goodwin and Prentis Goodwin. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 1, 2017 at 3pm in the Senatobia Chapel of Ray-Nowell Funeral Home with Rev. Ricky Haynes officiating. Interment will follow in Longtown Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 1, 2017, from 2-3pm in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Crenshaw United Methodist Church, P.O. Box L, Censhaw, MS 38621. Ray-Nowell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
