Jerry Webb Obituary

Jerry Ward Webb passed away peacefully in his Bolivar home, Thursday, June 13th, 2019. He was born to Rev. E.N. and Nora Webb on April 4, 1936, in Neosho, MO. He graduated from Sarcoxie High, Southwest Baptist College, Southwest Missouri State, and New Orleans Seminary. He married Paula Long of Bolivar in August of 1960. Jerry began his career teaching public school in Choral Music and Band at Mansfield and West Plains. While teaching he felt the call on his life to ministry. Throughout college he led music in worship at First Baptist Camdenton, Second Baptist Springfield, and First Baptist Bolivar. He served while attending Seminary at First Baptist Kenner and First Calvary Baptist in New Orleans. He continued his ministry at Bell Avenue Baptist, Knoxville, TN, St. John Baptist, St. Louis, MO, Second Baptist, Liberty, MO, First Baptist, Ringgold, GA, First Baptist Forsyth, GA, until his retirement from First Baptist, Calhoun, GA. Jerry was an avid tennis player and played faithfully until his health prohibited it. He loved singing with the Music Men in Missouri, Tennessee, and Georgia. He loved to travel and spend time with his children and grandchildren. Jerry is preceded in death by his father, E.N. Webb; his mother, Nora Webb; his brothers and sisters: Lucille Osborne, Norman Webb, Betty Martin, Beverly Webb, and Kenton Webb. He is survived by his wife, Paula Webb; his children: Pamela Webb, Rhonda Lewandowski and her husband Mark, Rick Webb and his wife Jennifer, and Jay Webb and his wife Katherine. His grandchildren are: Daniel Lewandowski and his wife Nao, Sarah Lewandowski, Rebecca Lewandowski, Philip Lewandowski, Emma Allen, Elliott Allen, Apple Jane Allen, Agatha Webb, Mariah Duff, Andrew Duff, Elijah Webb Duff, and Autumn Duff. A celebration of life service will be at First Baptist Bolivar on Saturday, June 22, 2019, at 11:00 AM with a visitation at 10:00 AM. A short graveside service will follow at 2:00 PM at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Springfield, MO. Donations for Student Mission Trips at First Baptist Bolivar will be accepted in lieu of flowers.
