Gladys Tweed Banks, 99 of Oak Grove, MO passed away Friday, February 14, 2020 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Blue Springs, MO. The family will greet friends from 10-11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at the Speaks Buckner Chapel, 300 Adams St., Buckner, MO 64016 followed immediately by graveside interment in Buckner Hill Cemetery. Gladys was born September 24, 1920 in Harlan County, KY to George O. and Susan A. (Seals) Tweed. She had worked as an electronics assembler for Boeing Aircraft from 1953-65. She had lived in Englewood, CA, Fayetteville, AR, San Jose, CA, San Diego, CA and has lived in Blue Springs since 2004. Survivors include; 2 sons, William “Bill” Banks of Oak Grove, MO and James S. Banks of Buckner, Mo; 4 siblings, George O. Tweed, Jr. of Ohio, Madge Tweed Grayson of Louisville, KY, Robert Tweed of KY and Donald Tweed of FL; 4 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and a great great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Raymond Banks in 1971 and 7 brothers and sisters.
