Cheri Lynn O’Haver, 69 of Economy, Missouri died on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at her home surrounded by the love and care of her family and Hospice of Northeast Missouri. She was born August 24, 1950 in Kirksville, Missouri, the daughter of David Laverne and Juanita Gunnels. On November 23, 1969 she married the love of her life, James O’Haver and she lived her entire life in the La Plata community. Cheri is survived by her husband James O’Haver of Economy, four daughters, Brenda Shears of Macon, Michelle O’Haver, Jamie Kirkpatrick and Cynthia O’Haver all La Plata, a special niece, Stacey Hudson; six grandchildren Cody, David and Adyson Shears, Emily Kirkpatrick, Stuart and Willow O’Haver, six great-grandchildren Brihana Williams, Bentley, Lathyn and Harper Shears, Konnor and Slate Shears. One brother David and Connie Gunnels of South Gifford, two sisters Tharen and Jorgen Skjeveland of La Plata, Novenda Hartsock of La Plata, several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. She is proceeded in death by her parents David Lavern and Juanita (Teter) Gunnels, great-grandson Owen David Shears, great niece Carissa Bristow and great nephew Blake Bristow. Cheri loved to have friends and family around, rather sitting around by the deck, singing karaoke or filling up plates of food around her table. Cheri has been blessed with so many lifelong friends that she loved so very much. Cheri was also known as “Lady, Mom, Mimi, AC, Miss Cheri and Auntie M. Her door was always open, always a seat at the table. She loved her nieces and nephews like her own. She had a love for her daughters that was unbreakable. Jim and Cheri have been married over 50 years, the love they have for one another took them to the moon and back forever and always. Honorary Pallbearers: Cody Shears, David Shears, Jeff Skjeveland, Eric Skjeveland, Mike Gunnels, Johnny O’Haver, Nick VanHara, Matt McLain. A visitation is planned to be held at the Gifford Christian Church on Thursday July 2, 2020 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A memorial service in Cheri’s honor will follow the visitation and begin at 7:00pm with Darren Potter officiating. Cheri’s wishes were for cremation with A Simplified Funeral Solution
