Donna Patricia Smith

Donna Patricia Smith, 80 of Shelbyville, Missouri passed away at her home surrounded by the love of her family on Tuesday February 11, 2020. She was born September 27, 1939 the daughter of Dean Gibson and Ruth Canfield in Roseville, Illinois. Donna is survived by her husband, Carl Smith of the home, children, Vickie Lamb of Bellflower, CA., Jimmy Pence (Melissa) of Carthage, IL., Johnny Pence (Cheryl) of LaHarpe, IL., Timmy Pence (Tressa) Lomax, IL.; three step children, James Smith (Kate) of Tomball TX., David Smith (Tanya) of Shelbina, MO., Heather Hudson (Everett) of Palmyra, MO.; thirty-two grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren and one the way; sisters, Sharon Banta (Bob), Marilyn Burk, Geraldine Kistler, Cindy Dowdey (Larry); and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Lonnie Burk; sister Dinna Hardgrove; two brother in-laws, Buck Burk and Ariln Kistler. Donna was a mother and excellent homemaker who enjoyed dibbling in ceramics. She loved being outdoors and all that nature provided. She especially enjoyed camping, bird watching, and going fishing. She also enjoyed playing Bingo and attend the Northeast Old Threshers with her husband. Donna was a member of the Community Baptist Church in Emden was strong in her faith and a member of the (F.O.E) Fraternal order of Eagles. A visitation is planned for 10:00 am on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at the Community Baptist Church of Emden MO. A service in memory of Donna will be held at 11:00 am at the Community Baptist Church of Emden with Reverend S. D. Bodwell officiating. Burial will follow at the Newark cemetery in Newark, Missouri.
