Mildred Juanita Magers, 96, of Macon, Missouri passed away Friday, July 21, 2017. Mildred was born September 25, 1920 the daughter of Daniel J. Salisbury and Sylvia Ozella Salisbury (Curry) in Mercyville, Missouri. On October 29, 1935, she married Melvin L. “Boots” Magers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin L. "Boots" Magers [1982]; father and mother; brother, Raymond Salisbury; daughter, Opal M. Seager; brother-in-law, Stephan Vose; son-in-law, Ronald Spencer; grandchildren, Bryan Magers, Christina Burnett, and infant Carl Seager; great grandchild Keith Offutt. Mildred is survived by her daughter, Sylvia M. Spencer, Elmer, MO; two sons, Melvin L. "Butch" [Elaine] Magers,Tahlequah, OK; Raymond M. [Velma] Magers Atlanta, MO son in law: Donnie Seager Ft. Madison, IA; sisters, Martha Vose Macon, MO; Delores J. [Wilford] Williams Marceline, MO; grandchildren,Roxy [Byron] Shafer, Dumas, TX; Bruce [Julie] Spencer, Elmer, MO; Tim Seager [Jim Rainey] St. Louis, MO; Jerry [Lorie] Seager, Ft. Madison, IA; Lydia [Jeff] Mager, Donnellson, IA; Wanda [Rod] Billings, Donnellson, IA; Juanita [David] Hornbaker, Quenemo, KS; Toni [Chet] Pittman, Bevier, MO; Lonni [Mark] Wright, Tahlequah, OK; Shane Magers, Elmer, MO; Kristopher Magers, Columbia, MO; Thirty-three (33) Great Grandchildren; Fifty-one (51) Great-Great Grandchildren; six (6) Great-Great-Great Children; Several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mildred spent most of her life in the Elmer area, she enjoyed her family and her life as a homemaker caring for her family. She loved gardening, canning and being outdoors. Mildred also loved to crochet and sew pot holders that she would share with her friends and loved ones. In her later years, she moved to Kirksville where she lived for 29 years, Mildred also enjoyed wintering in Oklahoma with her son and his family. Mildred’s wishes were for cremation. A graveside service with inurnment is set for 11:00 am on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at the Bunce Cemetery, Elmer Missouri.
