Bill Dykes, 64, of Buckner, MO passed away Friday, September 29, 2017. A visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Monday, October 2, 2017 at Speaks Buckner Chapel 300 Adams, Buckner, MO, 64016. A memorial service will be held at 10am on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at the chapel. Bill was born on September 17, 1953 in Clinton, MO to Leroy and Wanda (Underwood) Dykes. On January 19, 1974 he married Leesa Haggard. Together they raised 2 sons. He spent 23 years in Boy Scouts and continued to be a supporter of them throughout his life. He was a Commissioner for the organization and also earned the Award of Merit. Bill also served as Administrator, Treasurer and was on the Board of Trustees for the village of Sibley. He was a part of the Sibley Lions Club and a past Master of the Masonic Lodge 501 in Buckner. In his free time he enjoyed fishing and camping but most of all loved time with his sons and grandchildren. Bill will be remembered by his wife Leesa Dykes of the home; sons Shanendoah Dykes and Benjamin Dykes of Buckner, MO; 6 grandchildren Devin Stark, Dawson Dykes, Layla Dykes, Laney Dykes, Henry Dykes, and Nola Dykes; a great-grandson Holden Stark; siblings Jim Dykes, Leda West-Ryerse, Eunice Mullikin, Irene West, and Albert West.
