Donna L. Pennington Weir, 67, Independence, MO passed away April 3, 2017. Visitation will be 6- 8 pm, April 19, 2017 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W Lexington Ave., Independence, MO; Donna was born Jan. 16, 1950 to Lowell G. and Georgia (Gailey) Newkirk in Springfield, MO and graduated from Northeast High School in Kansas City. She worked at U-Haul and retired from there in 2012. Previously she had worked at Osteopathic Hospital. She loved watching TV and trips to Branson but most of all she loved being with her family. Donna was preceded in death by her parents and sister Dolores Burks. She is survived by daughter Dianna Pennington; grandchildren Johnny Brown, Jr.; Bianca Smith; Tatianna Pennington; Makayla Runyon; great-granddaughter Zophia; step-daughter Angela Pennington; aunt Leota Mitchell, all of Independence, MO; cousin Eugenia Ackerley, Paola, KS; and special friends Cody Riggs, wife Hope and their children Gabby and Gracie and Bobby Colvert.
