Gerry Fergerson, 81, of Raytown, MO passed away Friday, December 29, 2017. Cremation is planned with a memorial service to be held at a later date. Gerry was born on May 10, 1936 in Independence, MO to Chester and Agnes (Knemiller) Beatty. After graduating from William Chrisman High School, she worked for Allis Chalmers where she met her husband, Orla Fergerson. During their 58 years of marriage they raised 4 sons together. She worked various jobs to help support the family. In her spare time she enjoyed crocheting, quilting, sewing, bowling, watching KU basketball, Chiefs, Royals, and Raytown South basketball. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and taking trips to Southern Missouri and Branson with them. Gerry was a long time member of Blue Ridge United Methodist Church, PTA President, and served on the Raytown Parks and Recreation board. She will be remembered by her sons Brent Fergerson and wife Dawn of Overland Park, KS, Matthew Fergerson and wife Wendy of Lee’s Summit, MO, Troy Fergerson and wife Melissa of Blue Springs, MO, and Brandon Fergerson and Seanna Higley of Roeland Park, KS; brother Gary Beatty and wife Sandra; grandchildren Grant, Ross, Brock, Joslyn, Griffin, and Maya Fergerson; plus many special nieces, nephews and other family members.
