Inez Ramona “Mona” Snyder, Independence, MO was presented to Heaven on Dec. 10, 2007 in her 53rd year. Services will be 10 am, Friday, Dec. 14, 2007 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; interment at Resurrection North Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to the American Heart Assoc. Mona was predeceased by her parents, Manuel and Inez Gonzales and is survived by her daughter, Amie Nicole Snyder; son, Brandon William Snyder and stepson William G. Snyder. When Mona had the chance to work as a cashier at Snyder’s Supermarket on Independence Avenue in Northeast Kansas City in 1978, little did she realize that she would marry its founder, William O. Snyder and become the mother of his two youngest children. Although divorced from him in 1989, she remained a close friend with “Wm O” until his death in 2004 and never overcame her grief at his death. She rejoiced in the birth of Brandon’s daughter, Mariah and Amie’s daughter, Arianna. A person who believed in helping her family members, Mona is also survived by her numerous siblings: brothers Joseph Gonzales and wife Roberta, Waldorf, MD; Manuel D. Gonzales; Gene Gonzales, both of Kansas City, MO; sisters Mary Lou Walsh and husband George, Kansas City, KS; Theresa Folsom and husband Bill, Parkville, MO; brothers David M. Gonzales, Kansas City, MO; Mark Gonzales and wife Patty, Independence, MO; Phillip E. Gonzales; Dion W. Gonzales, both of Kansas City, MO; two grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
