Lalovi Taula

Lalovi Taula, 88 of Independence, MO passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at his residence. Services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 2, 2012 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Stake Center 705 W. Walnut St., Independence, MO 64050. Visitation will be from 10:30 until service time at the church. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. Lalovi was born April 6, 1924 in Lalovi Mulifanua, Samoa to Tamate and Luella (Tamasepania) Taula. He had worked for the City of Independence in the maintenance department from 1973 until he retired in 1989. He enjoyed music and sports and was a member of the Moonlighters Club and the Samoan Organization of Independence. He was also a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Stake Center. He was married to Vi (Tuua) on November 6, 1954; she survives of the home. Other survivors include; 3 daughters, Flo Taula of Corona, CA, Merita Taula and Lata Taula both of Independence, MO; 4 sons, Nelson Taula and Joseph Taula of Independence, MO, Nibley Taula of Scottsdale, AZ and Martin Taula of Ewa Beach, Hawaii; a brother, Leituala Taula of West Valley, UT; a sister, Faletoi Faapito of Brisbane, Australia; 15 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
