Leigh Brooks

Leigh Brooks, 47, of Independence, MO passed away December 24, 2017. A visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. Sunday, January 7, at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO. graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Monday, January 8, at Mt. Washington Cemetery. Leigh was born December 15, 1970 in Kansas City, MO to Robert L. Brooks Sr. and Beverly Ann (Cothern) Brooks. She was a police officer for many years. Leigh loved animals, and considered her dogs and cats to be her babies. She spent her teen years as a roller figure skater with her older brother. She absolutely loved and adored her great niece and nephew. Leigh was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Robert L. Brooks Jr. She is survived by her two brothers, David S. Brooks and Stephen L. Brooks; nephew, Robert B. Brooks Sr. and fiancé Oma; great nephew and great niece, Robert B. Brooks Jr. and Jackie Brooks.
