William J. “Billy” Truschke, 27, Independence, MO passed away Monday, May 13, 2013. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 a.m. Monday, May 20, 2013 at Woods Chapel United Methodist Church; 4725 NE Lakewood Way, Lee’s Summit, MO 64064. Memorial services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Memorial contributions are suggested to Hillcrest Ministries of Independence; PO Box 408, Independence, MO 64051. Billy was born November 29, 1985 in Arlington Heights, IL the son of James R. and Fern M. (Beem) Truschke. He was a 2004 graduate of Blue Springs South High School and received his B.A. in Psychology from the University of Missouri in 2009. Billy worked for Services for Independent Living as a personal care assistant. He was an Eagle Scout and a member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. Billy enjoyed volunteering with the Rotary Camp for Disabled Scouts. Billy is survived by his mother, Fern Truschke Stuart and her husband Mike; sister, Audrey Truschke and her husband Thane Rehn; maternal grandmother, Myrtle Beem; and additional family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Jim Truschke in 2009.
