Anna Allen

Anna Elizabeth Allen, age 96, passed July 16, 2017. Visitation will be 1-2pm Saturday, July 22, 2017 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Services will follow at 2pm at the chapel. Burial will take place in Floral Hills Cemetery. She was born in Kendrick Colorado on August 11, 1920. Her parents were John and Hattie (Way) Lucas. She grew up in Kansas City KS and graduated from Wyandotte High School. She married Kenneth Claude Allen on October 15, 1939. They were married 64 years before Kenneth passed in 2004. Ann worked in clerical and accounting at Gateway Sporting Goods and the Kansas City Star. She was active in Fairmount Christian Church and volunteered with the Community Services League. Ken Sr. and Ann were wonderful parents and caretakers. They enjoyed traveling and taking care of themselves and everyone around them. Ann was an accomplished homemaker and cook. Baking Christmas cookies with Grandma is a cherished memory. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 2 sisters and a brother. She is survived by her children: daughter, JoAnn Karaff; son Ken Allen and wife Debra, their children Kim and Kevin Driskell, Kasey and Carlos Guardiola and Kelly Allen, ; daughter Linda Moranville and husband Jim and their children Nathan Graves, Bradley Graves, Tyler and Erin Graves, Lisa and Kerry Johnson, Lori and Dave Swope, Jaime and Jeff Reynolds, 27 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. She lived her last years at the Foxwood Springs Clare Bridge Memory Unit, and we are so grateful for their care. Ann will live on in our love for each other. She is sorely missed. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Harvesters Food Pantry.
