Cheryl Darby, 67, of Independence, MO passed July 16, 2017. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 21, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO. Cheryl was born July 1, 1950 in Frankfurt, Germany to Thomas and Mary (Mitchell) Ballowe. She was a wonderful woman, who loved being a grandma. For over 20 years, she and her husband Jim, fostered many children, which gave them great fulfillment in their lives. Her interests included fast sports cars, her animals, Batman and her horses. Cheryl was preceded in death by her son, Doug Darby; father, Thomas Ballowe; and her Yellow Lab, Molly. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Jim Darby; three daughters and their husbands, Theresa Lindle (Daniel), Tina Miller (Chris) and Sabrina Barrett (Matt); six grandchildren, Caleb Miller, Brandon Lindle, Jordan Barrett, Tyler Lindle, Madison Miller and Andrew Barrett; her mother, Mary Ballowe; brother, Thomas Ballowe; and sisters, Suzi Floberg and Sonja Ballowe.
