Kenda Nell Huckabey, 52 of Independence, MO passed away Thursday, July 20, 2017 at Truman Lakewood Hospital. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 24, 2017 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. The family will greet friends from 1:00 until service time Monday at the chapel. Donations maybe made in her name to the Sunshine Center. Kenda was born February 16, 1965 in Kansas City, MO to Kenneth D. and Roberta (Lampton) Huckabey and has been a lifelong area resident. Kenda had Down’s syndrome however, that did not keep her spirit down. She enjoyed music and sang and played the tambourine, watching movies, playing basketball and spending time with family. She had attended Lakeview Woods School. Survivors include; her parents, Kenny and Roberta Huckabey of the home; 3 sisters, Shelley Hagler, Lorrie Bellis (Joe) and Lynnetta Sellars (Glenn); a brother, Milton Huckabey and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and many other extended family and friends.
