Mildred Carlson

Mildred (Millie) Elisabeth Carlson, 95, Independence, MO, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Oct. 16. Millie was born July 25, 1922 in Levasy, MO to Edwin and Meta Stoenner. She was a graduate of Levasy High School and University of Kansas and later taught school in the Kansas City School District at Fairmount, Seven Oaks and Melcher schools. She was an active member of St. Luke’s United Church of Christ and cherished her time with family and friends. She is survived by a brother Eldon Stoenner (Marcia) of Goleta, CA; three children Sonja Carlson (Anna Lisa Lawton) of Kansas City, Rick Carlson (Karen) of Lee’s Summit, and Karen Cook (Rick) of Overland Park; 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. A memorial service is planned for Nov. 10 at St. Luke’s UCC in Independence MO, visitation at 2:30, service at 4:00. In lieu of flowers, donations to St Luke’s UCC would be appreciated.
