Ruth A. Likely, 74, Blue Springs, MO passed away Oct. 5, 2017. Memorial services will be 10 am, Thursday, Oct. 12 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055; inurnment will follow at Floral Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Wed. at the chapel. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association, 3846 W 75th St, Prairie Village, KS 66208. Ruth was born Jan. 27, 1943 in Kansas City, MO and graduated from Westport High School. She and her husband owned L & C Meat Company where she had previously worked as a bookkeeper. She was a Past President and member of the Independence Young Matrons for over fifty years. She was very active with the Young Matrons and participated in their Children’s Theater and many other philanthropic projects. She enjoyed traveling and arts and crafts. She really loved collectibles and decorating her home. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Gerald T. Likely and sister Betty Fadel. She is survived by daughters Tommi Ann Guier; Terri Lynn Ferree and husband Clark, all of Lee’s Summit MO; brother Milton Fletcher, Prairie Village, KS; granddaughters Tina and Gloria Guier; Bailey and Riley Ferree; sisters-in-law Marcie Corum and husband Tom and Bonnie Orell, all of Independence, MO.
