Storm Martin Obituary

Storm Alan Martin, 55, of Independence, Missouri passed away on July 20, 2017. Storm was born in Kansas City, Missouri on February 17th, 1962 to Storm and Sandy Martin. He spent his childhood in Raytown, Missouri playing football, baseball, running track and wrestling right alongside his siblings Wendy, Sandy, and Dusty. He graduated from Raytown High School in 1980. Storm began working for Penniston Construction when he was only 14 years old, and continued to work for Penniston until he retired. Storm welcomed his first child, son Storm Alan Martin Jr in 1982. He then married the love of his life, Terry Martin, on October 6th, 1984. Together, they welcomed daughter Patricia Kay Martin in 1989. Storm was a devoted father and husband. He was the ultimate outdoor guy, perfecting his survivalist skills and spending many weekends fishing, hunting and four wheeling with his family and friends. Storm knew that it was often the simple things in life that brought the most joy. A wild conversation with his buddies, a day spent fishing at the lake, a hot steak and a cold beer, laughing at a good joke and time with his family. He loved that the most. Storm became a grandfather in 2010 to Storm Alan Martin III, followed by Keegan Gabriel Martin in 2011 and Samuel Ace Martin in 2017. Storm relished the moments he was able to spend with his grandsons playing, wrestling and teaching them how to cause trouble. Storm is survived by wife Terry Martin of Independence, MO; son Storm Alan (Samantha) Martin Jr of Lee’s Summit, MO; daughter Patricia Martin of Independence, MO; parents Storm and Sandy Martin of Kingsville, MO; siblings Wendy (Todd) Bingham, Sandy (Chris) Jones, and Dusty Martin; grandsons Storm Martin III, Keegan Martin, and Samuel Martin; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m., with a celebration of life following at 6 p.m., both on Tuesday, July 25, at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St. in Independence.
