Bob Meyer

Mr. Robert S. “Bob” Meyer, 76, of Jefferson City, passed away Friday, August 16, 2019 at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital. Bob was born on July 4, 1943 in St. Charles a son of Hubert and Sophia (Schluess) Meyer. He was married on January 21, 1967 in Wickes, AR to Neta Faye Sullivan. In 1963, Bob began his professional career at the International Shoe Warehouse. He worked as a receiving clerk for 37 years until he retired in 2000. He was an active member of the Eugene Christian Church and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. An avid outdoorsman, Bob enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons and grandkids. He loved watching family sporting events, cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals, and playing league bowling. After retirement, Bob and Neta enjoyed traveling with Bonnie and Earnie to various national parks. Survivors include: his loving wife of 52 years, Neta Meyer; sons, Stephen Meyer (Amy) of Centertown, and Eric Meyer (Leann) of Jefferson City; daughter, Julia Wullabbs (Sati) of Moree, WA; grandchildren, Job, Max, Faith Ann, Alaina and Gracie Meyer, Bryon, Mindy and Nick; great-grandson, Tommy; sister, Madaline Burkhart of St. Charles; sisters-in-law, Bonnie McDowell (Earnie) of Texarkana, AR and Linda Sullivan of Jefferson City; brothers-in-law, David Sullivan (Peggy) of Sallisaw, OK and Bobbie Miller of Mena, AR; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Joann Buchanan; father and mother-in-law, Thomas and Violet (Wagoner) Sullivan; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Kenny Burkhart, Tommie Sullivan, Reba Jenkins (Lacey), Betty Miller and Jimmie Sullivan. Visitation will be held from 10:00 until 11:00 am Saturday, August 24, 2019 at the Eugene Christian Church, 10606 Tunnel Street, Eugene, MO with his memorial service following at 11:00 am with the Reverend Alan McNeely officiating. Private graveside services will be held at Riverview Cemetery.
