Janice Roughton

Joplin, Mo. Janice A. Roughton, age 80, of Joplin, Mo. passed away at 8:25 a.m. Thursday, June 22, 2017 at Mercy Hospital Joplin. Janice was born October 18, 1936 in Joplin and lived in the Joplin area most of her life. Janice worked over 20 years for Sam’s Club in Joplin, retiring in 2012. She was a graduate of Duenweg High School and was a member of the Wildwood Baptist Church. Janice married Donald Roughton November 27, 1954 in Joplin. He preceded her in death on January 28, 2014. She was also preceded in death by a son, Jody Brian Roughton. Survivors include two sons, Kevin Roughton and wife Teresa, Webbers Falls, Ok., and Scott Roughton and wife Sueanne, rural Jasper, Mo., two brothers, Gayle Wells and wife Nina, Grove, Ok. and Greg Wells and wife Evelyn, Joplin, four grandchildren; Jody Roughton and wife Tysha, Chase Roughton and wife Stephanie, Lacey Roughton, and Aspen Waters and husband Cory and seven great grandchildren: Ada, Mitt, Radyn, Dia, Easton, and Kinley Roughton, and Hudson Waters. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Mason-Woodard Chapel with Vic Hailey, Minister, Officiating. Burial will follow at the Osborne Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jody Roughton, Chase Roughton, Cory Waters, Kevin Robbins, Bob Danner, and Steve Warfield. Visitation will be at 9:00 a.m. Saturday until the Service at the Chapel. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Mortuary of Joplin, Mo.
