CAROLYN STANDISH RAMM--November 1, 1932 to May 9, 2013, Carolyn Standish Ramm, was a life-long south Kansas City, Missouri resident. She attended St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Grade School, St. Teresa’s Academy High School and Avila College. She earned a Bachelors degree in Psychology from University Missouri Kansas City. Carolyn was a member of St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Parish for her entire life and worked at the Catholic Diocese of Kansas City for 15 + years.
As a child, Carolyn enjoyed ice skating and visiting her father, Frank Standish at his office at the Kansas City Stock yards. She loved playing piano in high school, playing bridge with friends and aerobic dancing in her later years. Carolyn was an avid reader and was very interested in History and Politics. One of her favorite memories was meeting Ronald Regan with one of her dear friends, Elizabeth Rohn-Nelson during the 1976 Republican National Convention in Kansas City.
Carolyn loved her children and grandchildren and was very proud of them with all of their individual accomplishments.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents Frank Standish and Agnes Walsh “Hoofie” Standish; also by her aunts Marie F. Walsh and Loretta Walsh. She is survived by her five children Bob Ramm (Leawood, Kansas), Martha Standish (Olathe, Kansas), Jane Ramm Rerecich (Littleton, Colorado), Paul Ramm (Lenexa, Kansas) and John Ramm, Jr. (Kansas City, Missouri); Carolyn is also survived by her 11grandchildren: Mandi Avila, Ben Griffin, Samantha, Rachel, Becky Ramm; Ellie Standish; Michael Rerecich; Joe, Laura, Luke Ramm; JJ Ramm.
Carolyn loved dogs and had several throughout her life: Toppy, Benny, Katie, Butch, Dutch, Chester and precious Mr. Snurdly. Family requests donations to Wayside Waifs, PO Box 412922, KCMO 64141 in lieu of flowers.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11:00am Monday, May 13, 2013 at St. Elizabeth’s 7444 Main Street, Mass of Christian burial to follow at 11:00am. Interment at Forest Hill cemetery.
